Environmental Policy

IDGC of Centre, JSC is a socially responsible company. Along with provision of reliable and safe transport and distribution of electric power, the Company sets missions of protection of ecology and environmentally aware operation for an integrated approach to utilisation of natural resources.

In 2011, the Company approved the Programme of Implementation of Environmental Policy for 2011 and the Programme of Implementation of Environmental Policy for 2012-2013Approved by Resolution of the Board of Directors of IDGC of Centre, JSC of May 31, 2011 (Minutes No. 13/11 of May 31, 2011)., both aimed at a continuous increase in the level of environmental safety in the course of operations.

In 2011, the Company spent RUB 23,730.36 thous. for implementation of environmental policy (in 2010 these expenditures amounted to RUB 24,308.57 thous.).

The Company’s Management proposes the following plans in the sphere of the environmental policy for the forthcoming period:

• implementation of new environmental protection technologies, materials and equipment, and methods of operation within the technical and environmental policy of IDGC of Centre, JSC;
• further environmental protection measures to be planned for 2012;
• execution of a programme of industrial environmental monitoring;
• prompt obtaining of necessary permission documentation;
• fulfilment of license provisions for the use of subsurface sites;
• prompt delivery of wastes of I-V hazard classes for utilisation and disposal;
• equipping of sites for temporary storage of production and consumption wastes;
• implementation of technical arrangements on the aerial lines passing through specially protected natural reserves for prevention of death of rare bird species.
